I will dominate 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be streamed live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to promote next month's boxing match.

Former two-time unified title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British opponent Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's biggest financial successes, regularly earning huge paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is really proceeding.
